Dr. David Eisenberg
I tend to listen and be supportive while trying to understand what is troubling my patients. I try to allow the patient to get in touch with the emotion inside them of which they might not be fully aware. I look for patterns and can be challenging when warranted. I have found that when there is a good relationship between patient and therapist, personal growth can occur, which allows patients to feel better about themselves and function better in their lives outside the therapy. I worked with veterans at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago as an outpatient psychotherapist for 35 years.
